Pennsylvania Laborers’ District Council Endorses Rob Bresnahan for Congress

Pittston, PA — Congressman Rob Bresnahan’s campaign today announced that he has earned the endorsement of the Pennsylvania Laborers’ District Council (LIUNA), which cited his steadfast support for fair labor standards, commitment to improving working conditions, and strong advocacy for economic development that creates good-paying jobs.

To qualify for our endorsement, candidates must demonstrate their dedication to our workforce through their steadfast support and dedication to protecting and advancing the important rights of fair labor standards and working conditions, to current and prospective work opportunities and economic development, and to other key initiatives that safeguard and benefit our members and their families,” said Joseph J. Laquatra, President and Business Manager of the Pennsylvania Laborers’ District Council. “We believe that Congressman Rob Bresnahan has shown a strong commitment to these matters and to our local workforce, as well as a fervent desire to improve opportunities for future generations.”

The Pennsylvania Laborers’ District Council represents some of the hardest-working men and women in the construction industry, advocating for workplace safety, strong wages and benefits, and long-term economic growth that benefits workers and their families.

“I’m honored to have the support of the Pennsylvania Laborers’ District Council,” said Congressman Rob Bresnahan. “Pennsylvania was built by skilled union labor, and I’m committed to standing up for workers, protecting fair labor standards, and ensuring infrastructure and development projects create real opportunities for local families.”

The LIUNA endorsement adds to Bresnahan’s growing momentum among organized labor, including IBEW Local 163 and International Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. The announcement follows news that Bresnahan was awarded the “Outstanding New Member of Congress” honor by the American Federation of Government Employees.
