PITTSTON, PA — Today, Congressman Rob Bresnahan announced the launch of “Democrats for Rob.” This coalition, co-chaired by former Nanticoke Mayor and current Council President Joseph Dougherty and Jessup Borough Councilman Jeff Castellani, invites all Democrats in the district who want continued results for Northeastern Pennsylvania to join the coalition.
“While Rob Bresnahan and I may not share the same party registration, we do share the same commitment to the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Leadership isn’t about party labels, it’s about understanding the communities you serve. Rob knows the values, the work ethic, and the priorities of families here in places like Nanticoke,” said Nanticoke Council President Joseph Dougherty. “What our region needs is investment in good jobs, infrastructure, and opportunities that keep our communities strong, not policies that try to turn towns like Nanticoke into Portland, Oregon. That’s why I’m proud to support Rob Bresnahan. He understands what Northeastern Pennsylvania needs because he’s from here, and he’s committed to fighting for our future.”
“Congressman Bresnahan has already built a strong reputation as a bipartisan problem solver,” said Jessup Borough Councilman Jeff Castellani. “He is hyper focused on local issues that Northeastern Pennsylvanians think about everyday, such as continuity of healthcare, funding first responders, and maintaining our infrastructure. Rob Bresnahan has his finger on the pulse of NEPA and has done a spectacular job being our voice in Washington, DC.”

During his first term in Congress, Bresnahan has already established a strong record of bipartisanship:
- He is a member of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, a group driven by a commitment to bipartisanship and finding common ground.
- He has a proven record of signing on to bipartisan legislation. He signed three discharge petitions to extend the ACA Enhanced Premium Tax Credits, and voted to extend the credits when the legislation came up for a vote in the House.
- He is a fierce advocate for workers’ rights to collectively bargain. He signed onto a discharge petition to restore the right to collectively bargain for federal employees and voted to restore that right. Just last month, he was named the American Federation of Government Employee’s Outstanding New Member of Congress.
- He has introduced nine bipartisan pieces of legislation and cosponsored over 100 bipartisan bills.
