Monroe County law enforcement backs Bresnahan’s reelection, citing strong support for first responders.
Pittston, PA – Congressman Rob Bresnahan today announced that he has earned the endorsement of Stroud Lodge #75 of the Fraternal Order of Police, representing approximately 180 law enforcement officers in Monroe County.
The endorsement follows Bresnahan’s recent address to the lodge, where he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting law enforcement, first responders, and public safety across Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District.
“Congressman Bresnahan has a spotless record supporting law enforcement. From bringing back over $1 million to fight the opioid epidemic in Monroe County, to defending our rights to collectively bargain, and cosponsoring legislation to punish those who harm law enforcement officers, he’s backed the blue since the day he was sworn in.” said Stroud Lodge President Jesse Van Orden. The full endorsement letter can be viewed HERE.
“Public safety starts with supporting the brave officers and first responders who serve our communities with integrity and courage,” said Congressman Rob Bresnahan. “I am honored to have the support of the men and women of Stroud Lodge #75 who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. In Congress, I will always have their backs just like they have ours.”
Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti has been hampered by negative press for her treatment of law endorsement, including minimizing the shooting of a police officer in comments where she downplayed the homicides and gang violence in Scranton as something that could always be worse. She also cut maternity leave for police officers and has stated she wants to disarm police officers.
