Pennlive’s recent article highlights Rob Bresnahan’s attempts to bring a GOP fusion into Democratic stronghold Lackawanna County
Pennlive released an article last week week titled “Could one of Pennsylvania’s last political machines save Biden?” In the article, author Charles McElwee, highlighted Rob Bresnahan’s attempt to grow the Republican Party within Lackawanna County through his candidacy for Congress. Bresnahan explained that he believes this election will come down to “our senior citizens being forced to decide between medication, heating their homes, and buying groceries.” He also mentioned that inflation has skyrocketed prices on everyday purchases while wages have remained stagnant, stating “Nobody received a 20% raise in their take-home pay to offset how expensive it is to exist.”
Bresnahan closed his argument making it clear that he will not vote for cutting Medicare, an attack-line Democrats often employ against Republicans. He cited the example of his paternal grandmother, who asked “Oh, you’re a Republican, you’re going to cut my Medicare,” to which Bresnahan stated, “That can’t be further from the truth.”
