Cartwright attacked his Republican opponent in 2022 over a similar allegation
Broad and Liberty reported yesterday that Matt Cartwright accepted thousands of dollars, not once, but through four separate donations from a lobbyist who worked for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and fought against the 9/11 victims bill. The 9/11 victims bill allowed injured survivors and families of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia for allegedly sponsoring and training most of the 9/11 attackers.
During Cartwright’s last campaign in 2022, he launched an attack ad against his republican opponent alleging that his opponent’s lobbying firm was also paid to try to defeat this bill. Cartwright was airing this attack ad two months after he received one of these donations from the Saudi lobbyist who was doing the same thing his opponent’s lobbying firm had done.

Campaign Manager Derek Rockey added the following comment in response to this news:
“Matt Cartwright would rather take a donation from a Saudi lobbyist than stand up for the first responders and victims of the heinous 9/11 terrorist attack. The double-speak coming from Cartwright is indicative that he is out of touch with Northeastern PA and has spent far too much time in Washington D.C. He needs to be held accountable for his decision to accept these donations.
