Pittston, PA – Rob Bresnahan, Republican candidate for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District, announced today that his campaign has agreed to participate in a second debate, hosted by WBRE/WYOU, scheduled for October 15 or 16. This debate will be broadcast on both NBC and CBS affiliates. Bresnahan is calling on Congressman Matt Cartwright to finally step up and commit to this debate after weeks of dodging the issue.
“We are excited to debate the issues important to the people of Northeastern Pennsylvania, like protecting Social Security, securing our southern border, and getting our economy back on track,” said Rob Bresnahan. “It’s time for Congressman Cartwright to stop hiding behind excuses and defend his far-left record of voting for the Biden-Harris agenda nearly 100% of the time in tandem with fellow Progressive Caucus members like self-described socialist AOC.”
In mid-August, the Times Leader reported that Congressman Cartwright had not yet agreed to a second debate, stating that he “needed more information” before making a decision. The early voting process officially got underway this week in Pennsylvania.
